Boron Substation
The Boron response area is approximately 421 square miles. This response area encompasses the communities of Boron, Desert Lake, North Edwards, Aerial Acres, and the sprawling military complex of Edwards Air Force Base. This response area is 30 miles east of the Mojave Substation along State Highway 58, and consists of small rural townships. Population in the combined areas is approximately 26,500 people during the working days, and drops to about 16,500 during the “off hours.”
