Module III Reserve Course

Kern County Sheriff's Office

The Kern County Sheriff's Office Reserves as a committed group of men and women who are dedicated to public service and devoted to improving the quality of life in our community. Each Reserve Deputy Sheriff donates a minimum of 200 service/training hours a year. The Sheriff's Office is always seeking applicants for the Reserve program.

The Module III course is the first step in preparing students to become a P.O.S.T. certified peace officer. The 10-12 week Module III course is P.O.S.T. certified and is sponsored through Cerro Coso College. Upon completion, students can continue on to Module II in order to be a Level II Reserve Peace Officer with a California Law Enforcement Agency.

The Sheriff's Office is currently not conducting a Module III Course for Reserves. There is no set date for this course, as it is based on the level of interest by prospective applicants. Please continue to monitor the Kern County Sheriff's Office website for future dates.
