The Investigations Bureau provides many vital support functions to the Sheriff’s Office and is responsible for performing many mandated duties for the Sheriff's Office through its various divisions/sections.

The General Investigations Division is comprised of the Robbery/Homicide Unit, Sexual Assault and Abuse Investigations Unit and Burglary/Theft Unit. The Special Investigations Division is comprised of the Narcotics Section, Special Operations Section (Air Support) and Gang Suppression Section. These divisions work together to complete complex and thorough investigations into criminal matters. In addition, the bureau is responsible for conducting internal affairs investigations.
