The Glennville Substation encompasses a response area of 500 square miles. The area is comprised of national forests, large cattle ranches, and oilfields. There are approximately 700 people living within the Glennville Substation’s response area; however, there are many who work in the oilfields or visit the national forest for hunting, hiking, and camping daily. The Glennville Substation’s response area extends from an elevation of about 500 feet above sea level at Highway 65 to an elevation of over 6,000 feet above sea level at the Greenhorn Summit.
The Glennville Substation is staffed by one senior deputy sheriff. The Glennville senior deputy works closely with the Rural Crimes Unit investigating cattle thefts. As such, he works closely with the cattlemen and State Brand Inspectors.
