Registration Unit

Purpose of the Registration Unit

Registrations, fingerprints, and photographs of convicted sex, arson, and gang offenders that live in the unincorporated areas of Kern County. The Registration Unit also processes any subject that the court has ordered to be booked, and fingerprints any subject required to do so by an officer when they have received a citation.

Registration Unit Location and Hours

The Registration Unit is located at 1415 Truxtun Avenue, Suite 100 in Bakersfield, CA. The unit is on the first floor in the same office as the Work Release Unit. Those required to register can come during the hours of 8:00am to 11:00am, and 1:00pm to 3:00pm by appointment only. The Registration Unit is closed on all weekends and holidays.

Law Enforcement and the public may call 661-868-5547 or 661-868-4853 to speak with someone in the Registration Unit when they are open. After hours, they may call 661-868-5555 to receive basic information about the Registration Unit.

Bakersfield Police Department Registrations

Effective February 4, 2010, the Bakersfield Police Department began processing registrants that are living within their jurisdiction. Their address is 1601 Truxtun Ave in Bakersfield. Their phone number is 661-326-3966. They are open Tuesday - Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
